Three Keys To Pitching Success!

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

There are 3 keys to success as a pitcher.  If you have all 3, then you will succeed at even the highest levels of baseball.

Here they are in no random order.

change of speed, movement and location.

In my pitching specific camps I instruct your pitchers how to throw faster using proper mechanics. (throwing with entire body not just relying on their arm for velocity)

I teach them how to throw off speed pitches including the circle change and curveball.

Most of all location is the key to their pitching success!  They will learn how to master control ensuring all of their momentum is going straight toward the plate.

Baseball Camps in Utah

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

If you are a pitcher and are 100% ready to take your game to another level, then you are ready to attend a one of a kind baseball pitching camp in Utah.

Dan Gazaway, owner of The Pitching Academy, has been instructing pitchers for over ten years now.  Many of the athletes he has worked with are now pitching well in colleges across the nation.

Coach Gazaway helps organize many pitching specific camps in Utah and surrounding states.  His focus is pitching mechanics.  In these mini-camps he goes over all of the basics of throwing from feet to fingertips.  He ensures that all students understand where pitching velocity and control really come from as he outlines the importance of throwing the ball correctly.

Once students understand the concepts of pitching mechanics (depending on age and experience of the pitchers attending the camp) he teaches how to throw different off speed pitches; again, using proper mechanics.  Dan usually demonstrates how to throw a variety of changeups and a curveball at his camps but often show pitchers how to throw many other pitches for High School and collegiate level pitchers.

If you are a coach or parent and your pitchers are in need of sound pitching instruction in Utah.  Don’t hesitate scheduling Dan Gazaway for a camp in your area.

Utah Pitching Instruction

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Many of you may know about my other baseball related sites like The Pitching Academy.

I created this pitching instruction site to be geared toward youth pitchers in Utah.  Even though you may have found my information online searching for simple baseball terms like pitching, pitching mechanics, how to throw pitches etc. Some of you may not know I’m from Utah.

I have been instructing pitchers, mainly in Utah County, for the last ten years now.  I have taught individual pitching lessons to over 3,000 pitchers in the valley, many of which have gone on and pitched at the collegiate level and beyond.

On this site you will find various baseball resources that I have created or will create to help you be a better pitcher.  I just added a pitching instructional video section so you can review how to throw different pitches as well as learn some basic pitching mechanics.

If you are ready to take your pitching to the next level, I am confident I can help you.

If you have questions in regards to individual pitching instruction, pitching camps and clinics for your team or league, or you simply want to make sure you are throwing with proper mechanics; feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Dan Gazaway
